Voices are being heard to recognize “life fatigue” or “fulfilled life” as new grounds for access to medical assistance in dying.

The Dominican Center for Ethics and Spiritual Life (CDEVS) offers “Death from fatigue… to live: a new criterion for medical aid in dying?” on Tuesday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. (Quebec and Ontario time) by Didier Caenepeel, Dominican and professor of bioethics at the Dominican University College.

Is it a matter of individual choice or a reflection of a deeper social malaise?


How to accompany a person who is “tired of living” to the point of wanting to die?

When you are sick, it is normal to want to get better… and even to ask for a miracle, especially when it is serious. 

But isn’t it more important to be saved?

 Thomas de Gabory, Dominican priest and palliative care physician, professor of theology at the Dominican University College, offers a conference on “Hi and Healing” on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. (Quebec time and Ontario time). Everything is online and free!

 On the program: 

 1.       God can heal me, but does he really want to?

2.       The Christ heals and saves, both at the same time? Not always!

3.       Healing or being saved: what should I ask God for?

There is nothing more scandalous than a child who suffers and a child who dies. Dying at the beginning of life involves decisions that can be all the more difficult and painful.

Michelle Dabrowski, Director of the Office for Family and Life at the CCCB,
and a doctoral student in theology at Dominican University College, will give a lecture
on
“Dying at the Dawn of Life: Palliative Care and Medical Aid in Dying in Children” on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 7:30 pm (Quebec and Ontario time). Everything is online and free!

Program: 1. Issues of potential eligibility of children for medical aid in dying. – 2. The specificity of childhood and its ethical issues. – 3. The answers still possible for a child with a terminal illness. 4. Live Q&A session with Michelle Dabrowski
